University of San Francisco - Number One in Diversity

In May of 2013, the University of San Francisco was recognized by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as number one in diversity for a non-historically black college or university, for its high graduation rate for minority students, and its diverse student body. The student population is 40 percent minority, and the school graduates 74 percent of Hispanic students, 51 percent of Black students, 71 percent of Asian and Pacific Islander students, and 61 percent of White students.

For 2013, U.S. News and World Report ranked USF’s undergraduate population eighth in diversity, and cited USF as one of the “top overperforming schools” for graduating Pell grant recipients. The Pell grant offers federal financial assistance to students whose families earn less than $20,000 per year.
